Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an experienced Senior Technician to manage BMS across UAE data centers. You will oversee and maintain BMS systems, ensure uptime, and support environmental control for critical facilities.

You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with vendors on upgrades and calibration. The role requires 4–6 years of BMS experience, strong analytical skills, and on-call availability in a 24x7 environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or diploma in Electrical/Mechanical/Automation Engineering or equivalent.
• 4-6 years of hands-on BMS experience in data centers or critical facilities.
• In-depth knowledge of Johnson Controls platforms and BMS architecture.
• Familiarity with HVAC, power distribution, fire suppression and access control systems.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and communication skills.
• Experience with Modbus, BACnet and LonWorks protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain BMS across UAE data centers to maximise uptime and efficiency.
• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of BMS-controlled equipment (HVAC, CRACs, chillers, UPS, generators).
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors for installation, upgrades, calibration and repairs of BMS components.
• Review alarms and provide first-line response to faults or deviations.
• Maintain and update BMS software, graphics and configurations.
• Analyze system data to propose energy-saving initiatives and performance improvements.
• Provide ideas to customers on system enhancements and energy savings to grow business.
• Support commissioning of new systems and infrastructure expansions.
• Ensure BMS operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
• Prepare documentation including PPM reports, SOPs and performance reports.
• Create monthly/quarterly PPM schedules and ensure adherence per contract terms.
• Identify opportunities for LM sales; develop quotes and submit to Service Team Manager.

Job description

What you will do:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technician with a strong background in data center infrastructure to oversee and maintain the Building Management System (BMS) across Data Centers in UAE. The ideal candidate will ensure maximum operational uptime and efficiency while supporting environmental control systems safety and compliance within the data center.

How you will do it:

• Monitor and manage BMS systems across multiple Hospital commerical Residental building& data center sites to ensure optimal performance and environmental control.

• Perform routine inspections preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of BMS-controlled equipment such as HVAC CRAC units chillers UPS and generators.

• Liaise with internal teams and external vendors for installation upgrades calibration and repairs of BMS components.

• Review system alarms and provide first-line response to system faults or deviations.

• Maintain and update BMS software graphics and configurations as needed.

• Analyze system data and trends to propose energy-saving initiatives and improve performance.

• Capable of giving innovative ideas to customers on system enhancement and energy savings in order to develop the business and customer relationships.

• Support commissioning activities for new systems and infrastructure expansion.

• Ensure BMS operations comply with safety regulations company policies and industry standards.

• Prepare and maintain documentation including PPM Reports SOPs logs and performance reports.

• Create monthly/Quarterly PPM reports PPM schedules and ensure all the PPMs have been completed as per schedule and contract terms.

• Identifies opportunities for L&M sales. Develops quotes and estimates for the work and submits to Service Team Manager or Customer Service Agent as appropriate.

What we look for:

• Bachelors degree or diploma in Electrical Mechanical or Automation Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).

• Minimum 4-6 years experience working with BMS in a data center or critical facility environment.

• In-depth knowledge of BMS platforms (Johnson Controls platforms).

• Familiarity with data center systems such as HVAC power distribution fire suppression and access control.

• Strong analytical troubleshooting and communication skills.

• Experience with Modbus BACnet LonWorks protocols.

• Ability to work in 24x7 mission-critical environments including on-call support if required.
