Job summary

Talents Tide is seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead the technical function for a Dubai-based contracting company. This senior, office-based role oversees multiple projects, coordinating architectural, structural, civil, MEP and other disciplines to ensure buildable, compliant outcomes.

You will review IFC/shop drawings, submittals and RFIs, drive pre-construction planning, and guide value engineering while mentoring a team of engineers, coordinators and draftsmen.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Structural Engineering or related field.
• 12–18+ years of experience in construction / main contracting.
• Strong UAE construction experience is highly preferred.
• Proven experience in a Technical Manager / Head of Technical / Technical Director position.
• Strong experience with building construction projects, preferably high-rise, residential, commercial or mixed-use developments.
• Excellent knowledge of IFC drawings, shop drawings, RFIs, material submittals and technical documentation.
• Strong understanding of UAE codes, regulations and authority approval processes.
• Proven ability to manage multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Strong consultant, client and subcontractor coordination skills.
• Experience with BIM / Revit / AutoCAD is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Technical Department across multiple projects.
• Coordinate Architectural, Structural, Civil, MEP and other engineering disciplines.
• Review and approve IFC drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements and RFIs.
• Lead technical coordination with consultants, clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Identify and resolve technical issues before they impact construction, cost or schedule.
• Ensure compliance with UAE building codes, authority requirements, project specifications and contracts.
• Review design changes, technical proposals and value engineering opportunities.
• Support project teams with constructability reviews and technical solutions.
• Establish technical procedures, workflows and documentation standards.
• Monitor technical submissions, approvals and design deliverables across projects.
• Lead, mentor and develop technical engineers, coordinators, architects and draftsmen.
• Provide technical reports, recommendations and updates to senior management.
• Participate in tender reviews and provide technical input during pre-construction and planning stages.
