Dicetek LLC is urgently seeking a Senior System Specialist to support a large-scale government infrastructure environment in Dubai. This role requires deep expertise across virtualization, Windows and Linux administration, enterprise storage, backup and recovery, cloud infrastructure, and data center operations within mission-critical enterprise environments.
Detailed Job Description
As a Senior System Specialist, you will be responsible for administering, optimizing, securing, and supporting complex enterprise infrastructure platforms across virtualized, physical, storage, backup, and cloud environments. You will provide Level 3 support, conduct root cause analysis, manage infrastructure upgrades, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure high availability and operational excellence. The role requires extensive hands‑on expertise with VMware technologies, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SAN/NAS storage, backup solutions, and disaster recovery frameworks. Working closely with cybersecurity, network, cloud, database, and application teams, you will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing enterprise IT services supporting government operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and manage VMware vSphere environments including ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, vMotion, and VM lifecycle management
- Manage and maintain Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments
- Perform system patching, hardening, performance tuning, and infrastructure optimization
- Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and enterprise identity services
- Configure and manage SAN and NAS storage platforms including LUN provisioning, replication, multipathing, and capacity planning
- Administer enterprise backup and recovery solutions, ensuring RPO and RTO requirements are achieved
- Execute disaster recovery testing, recovery validation, and business continuity activities
- Monitor enterprise infrastructure and respond to incidents, alerts, and performance issues
- Provide Level 3 technical support and perform root cause analysis for critical incidents
- Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, patch management, and vulnerability remediation initiatives
- Collaborate with cloud, cybersecurity, network, database, and application teams on enterprise projects
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate infrastructure support activities
- Develop and maintain architecture documentation, SOPs, inventory records, recovery procedures, and technical reports
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 7–9 years of enterprise infrastructure administration experience
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a senior technical infrastructure role
- Strong hands‑on expertise with VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, HA, DRS, and vMotion
- Advanced Windows Server administration experience
- Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and troubleshooting expertise
- Experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy environments
- Strong enterprise SAN and NAS storage management experience
- Knowledge of storage replication, performance tuning, multipathing, and capacity planning
- Extensive experience with enterprise backup, restoration, retention, encryption, and recovery testing
- Experience supporting data center operations and infrastructure monitoring platforms
- Strong understanding of disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience frameworks
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and hybrid infrastructure architectures
- Experience with infrastructure security, system hardening, and vulnerability remediation
- Strong technical documentation, reporting, and stakeholder communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills
- VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certification
- Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or RHCE certification
- Experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud platforms
- Knowledge of automation and scripting using PowerShell, Ansible, or Python
