Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Safety professional to lead Process Safety Management and drive risk controls across high‑hazard operations, including molten metal handling and gas systems.
The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in OH&S or related field and 2–3 years in heavy manufacturing HSE. You will conduct hazard analyses, audits and coaching to ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and local regulations.
Policies, Processes & Procedures: Implements approved departmental policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering all areas of the Safety department so that all relevant procedural legislative requirements are adhered to while delivering a quality, cost‑effective service in a consistent manner within their assigned area of operations.
Process Safety Management: Implement and oversee Process Safety Management (PSM) protocols for high‑risk areas including molten metal handling, gas systems and hazardous materials. Conduct process hazard analysis (PHA) and ensure adherence to safety‑critical procedures. Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to improve process safety controls and mitigate risks. Prepare hazardous area classification documentation, safety and fire fighting layouts, escape routes, traffic management mapping and other safety drawings as needed.
Day‑to‑Day Operations: Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations (OSHA, ISO 45001, local labour laws, etc.). Monitor adherence to safety policies, procedures and best practices tailored to an aluminium company. Conduct internal audits, inspections and compliance reviews, recommending corrective actions.
Investigation & Reporting: Facilitate the investigation of workplace accidents and injuries, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions. Use data analysis and root cause methodologies such as FMEA and Bowtie Analysis to improve incident prevention. Ensure timely communication of lessons learned and best practices to prevent recurrence.
Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics to track and analyse safety performance indicators such as incident rates, near‑miss trends and exposure levels. Develop dashboards and reports to provide insights into safety trends and risk factors. Apply predictive analytics to proactively identify safety risks and prevent incidents.
Interaction and Coaching: Support in organising toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness campaigns. Coach frontline workers and supervisors on safety related topics. Encourage workers to follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions.
Testing & Inspection: Be familiar with local regulatory requirements and international standards. Develop and initiate routine evaluations of the workplace as required, advising on all aspects of safety precautions to identify any areas of non‑conformance with local regulatory requirements and internationally accepted standards and recommend solutions to ensure compliance.
Safety, Quality & Environment: Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment. Provide health and environmental inputs including health risk assessments such as chemical exposure, noise and lighting, ergonomics, human factors engineering, environmental impact assessments, etc. to projects.
People Management: Observe and coach workers to comply with safety procedures and protocols.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in safety data analytics and process safety. Recommend and implement data‑driven safety improvements in collaboration with operations and maintenance teams. Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in safety performance metrics and process safety.
Emergency Preparedness: Assist in conducting safety related drills and emergency evacuations. Support emergency response teams in case of workplace incidents.
Related Assignments: Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.
