Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) in Dubai seeks a Health, Safety & Environment professional to lead Process Safety Management, risk assessment and data-driven safety improvements.
You will collaborate with engineering, operations and maintenance teams to ensure ISO 45001 compliance, perform audits and coach staff on safety practices across site operations.
Implements approved departmental policies, systems, processes, procedures and controls covering all areas of the Safety department so that all relevant procedural legislative requirements are adhered to while delivering a quality cost-effective service in a consistent manner within their assigned area of operations.
Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations: OSHA, ISO 45001, local labour laws etc. Monitor adherence to safety policies, procedures and best practices tailored to an aluminium company. Conduct internal audits, inspections and compliance reviews recommending corrective actions.
Facilitate the investigation of workplace accidents, work-related injuries and other serious events determining root causes and implementing corrective actions. Use data analysis and root cause methodologies e.g. Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Bowtie Analysis to improve incident prevention. Ensure timely communication of lessons learned and best practices to prevent recurrence.
Support in organizing toolbox talks, safety briefings and awareness campaigns. Coach frontline workers and supervisors on safety-related topics encouraging compliance and reporting unsafe conditions.
Be familiar with local regulatory requirements and International Standards. Develop and initiate routine evaluations of the workplace as required, advising on all aspects of safety precautions to identify any areas of non-compliance with local regulatory requirements and internationally accepted standards and recommend solutions to ensure compliance.
Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment. Provide health and environmental inputs such as health risk assessments (e.g. chemical exposure, noise, lighting, ergonomics, human factors engineering, environmental impact assessments) to projects.
Observe and coach workers to comply with safety procedures and protocols.
Stay updated on industry best practices and technological advancements in safety data analytics and process safety. Recommend and implement data-driven safety improvements in collaboration with operations and maintenance teams. Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in safety performance metrics and process safety.
Performs other related duties or assignments as directed.
