Job summary

Egis is seeking a competent Structural Inspector for the Abu Dhabi region to ensure that all on‑site structural works strictly adhere to approved IFC drawings, shop drawings, and method statements in line with UAE regulations. The role requires a civil engineering degree, minimum 8 years of UAE structural inspection experience, and the ability to interact with engineers, architects and specialists.

English fluency is essential; Arabic is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of structural site inspection experience in UAE construction (consultant experience preferred).
• Immediately available preferred.
• Strong understanding of structural materials, workmanship, defects and deterioration mechanisms.
• Solid knowledge of UAE building codes, authority requirements and international standards.
• Ability to interpret IFC/shop drawings, specs, ITPs and method statements with high accuracy.
• Proficiency in standard inspection tools, site testing coordination, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily site inspections for all structural works ensuring compliance with IFC drawings, shop drawings, specifications and method statements.
• Monitor contractor activities and verify conformity with UAE authority requirements and international standards.
• Identify deviations or non-conformities and issue Site Observation Reports and NCRs as required.
• Review and validate inspections related to concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, structural steel, foundations, waterproofing interfaces and other elements.
• Coordinate with project team to resolve structural issues and confirm corrective actions meet project requirements.
• Verify contractor maintains proper documentation, testing and quality records (cube tests, FDT, plate load test, calibration certificates).
• Ensure all works follow approved method statements, ITPs and QA/QC procedures.
• Provide guidance to contractors to resolve site-related issues promptly.
• Maintain organized inspection records with photos, comments and compliance notes.
• Ensure strict compliance with health & safety protocols during all inspections.
