Job summary

Azizi Developments is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead the design and engineering of façade, curtain wall, cladding, glazing, and aluminum systems in Dubai. You will perform structural calculations for wind, seismic, and other loads while reviewing drawings and technical submissions.

The role requires coordinating with architects, consultants, BIM teams, and site teams, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience in façade, aluminum, curtain wall, cladding or building envelope projects.
• Strong knowledge of wind-load calculations and façade performance.
• Proficient with design software and engineering tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and engineering of façade, curtain wall, cladding, glazing, and aluminum systems.
• Perform structural calculations and analysis for façade systems, including wind loads, dead loads, seismic loads, and other applicable loads.
• Review and approve structural drawings, shop drawings, calculations, and technical submissions.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, structural engineers, BIM teams, and project/site teams.
• Develop and review façade structural details, connections, brackets, anchors, and support systems.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant international codes, project specifications, and authority requirements.
• Review material specifications, technical data sheets, and structural performance requirements.
• Provide technical solutions for design changes, site conditions, and engineering issues.
• Conduct technical reviews of façade designs and identify potential design or constructability issues.
• Support the preparation of method statements, technical reports, calculations, and design documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior structural engineers and designers.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are practical and suitable for fabrication.
• Conduct site inspections when required and provide technical support for installation and construction issues.
• Ensure all engineering deliverables are completed accurately and within project deadlines.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of experience in structural engineering, with significant experience in façade, aluminum, curtain wall, cladding, glazing, or building envelope projects.
• Strong knowledge of façade structural systems, connections, materials, and installation methods.
• Proficiency in structural analysis/design software, AutoCAD, and relevant engineering tools.
• Experience with international standards and structural design codes.
• Strong understanding of wind-load calculations and façade performance requirements.
• Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, architects, and manufacturing teams.
• Excellent technical, analytical, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
