Job summary

KN International Head Office Abu Dhabi, UAE is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with extensive experience in structural design, analysis, and documentation. You will lead design activities, prepare calculations and drawings, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

The role requires strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and structural steelwork, proficiency in ETABS/STAAD Pro/SAP2000, and BIM-enabled workflows within a Middle East context. Global projects with strict standards await.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of UAE structural engineering experience; focus on building/civil/infrastructure structures.
• Proven design and delivery experience for building structures or civil projects.
• Experience with reinforced concrete and structural steelwork.
• Experience coordinating with MEP, Architecture, and Utilities.
• Proficiency in structural analysis/design software (ETABS, STAAD Pro, SAP2000).
• Proficiency in Revit and CAD tools in a 3D design environment.
• Familiarity with BIM protocols and local codes/authorities in the Middle East region.
• Strong project management, planning, and resource coordination abilities.
• Strong technical, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.

SENIOR STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Location: KN International Head Office Abu Dhabi, UAE

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer with strong experience in structural design and engineering. The candidate will be responsible for leading structural design activities, preparing and reviewing structural calculations and drawings, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, authority requirements, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and undertake structural analysis and design for building, civil engineering, and infrastructure-related structures, including reinforced concrete and structural steelwork.
• Prepare structural calculations, analytical models, specifications, reports, and detailed design drawings for new build schemes and projects.
• Provide technical leadership and support in the preparation of concept, scheme, and detailed structural designs.
• Ensure structural designs comply with applicable codes, standards, regulatory approvals, authority requirements, and project specifications.
• Review engineering designs, structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical deliverables for accuracy, quality, and compliance.
• Coordinate structural designs with MEP, Architecture, Utilities, and other multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide technical support and guidance to engineers and BIM technicians throughout project delivery.
• Manage structural engineering tasks and resources in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
• Conduct or support site inspections to monitor quality and compliance with design drawings.
• Ensure all structural design work follows company and client quality standards and procedures.
• Communicate technical aspects of projects and structural design approaches to team members and stakeholders.
• Stay updated with current engineering codes, standards, and practices, contributing to technical matters at project and divisional levels.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in structural engineering in the UAE, with a focus on structural design.
• Proven experience in the design and delivery of building structures and/or civil engineering or infrastructure-related structures.
• Experience in reinforced concrete and structural steelwork.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams, including coordination with MEP, Architecture, and Utilities.
• Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (ETABS, STAAD/STAAD Pro, SAP2000)
• Proficiency in Revit and CAD tools, with experience working within a 3D design environment.
• Familiarity with BIM protocols is desirable.
• Familiarity with local codes, standards, and authorities, particularly within the Middle East region.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to plan and monitor project programmes, costs, and resources effectively.
• Strong technical, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
