Our client, a leading financial services organisation, is seeking a Senior Manager – Strategic Planning to shape enterprise strategy and drive execution of strategic priorities. The role provides high visibility and close collaboration with senior stakeholders to influence direction and deliver key initiatives.

The candidate will lead strategy development, perform market analyses, develop governance frameworks and prepare executive-level materials for decision making and performance reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related discipline; MBA preferred.
• Approximately 10+ years' experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning or transformation.
• Experience in financial services is essential and senior stakeholder exposure.
• Track record of delivering enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
• Strong ability to interact with executive leadership and present to boards.
• Experience with external consulting firms is desirable and governance oriented.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and evolution of corporate strategy and long-term roadmap.

They are seeking a Senior Manager – Strategic Planning to help shape enterprise strategy, drive execution of strategic priorities and support executive leadership in delivering long-term business objectives.

This is a highly visible role, working closely with senior stakeholders to influence strategic direction and ensure successful delivery of key initiatives across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and evolution of the organisation's corporate strategy and long-term strategic roadmap.
• Conduct market, competitor and macroeconomic analysis to identify growth opportunities and strategic priorities.
• Develop strategic frameworks, performance measures and executive-level reporting for senior leadership.
• Produce high-quality presentations, board papers and strategic recommendations to support executive decision making.
• Establish and oversee governance frameworks to ensure effective execution of strategic initiatives.
• Monitor strategic programmes, KPIs, risks and interdependencies, ensuring initiatives remain aligned to business objectives.
• Partner with business leaders to translate strategy into operational execution and measurable outcomes.
• Facilitate quarterly and annual strategic performance reviews for executive leadership.
• Manage relationships with external consulting partners, ensuring engagements deliver commercial value and actionable recommendations.
• Evaluate consulting proposals, oversee project delivery and ensure knowledge transfer into the organisation.
• Promote best practice strategic planning methodologies and continuous improvement across the business.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics or a related discipline. MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification preferred.
• Approximately 10+ years' professional experience, including significant experience within corporate strategy, strategic planning or enterprise transformation.
• Experience within the financial services sector is essential.
• Demonstrated success developing and executing enterprise-wide strategic initiatives.
• Strong experience engaging with executive leadership and preparing board-level presentations.
• Previous experience working with, or managing, external consulting firms is highly desirable.
• Experience operating within complex, matrix organisations.
