Job summary

3i Infotech Limited in Abu Dhabi, UAE is seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to manage enterprise SQL Server environments, ensure high availability, backups, and DR, and drive cloud migration initiatives. The role focuses on large databases, performance tuning, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate has 6+ years of SQL Server experience, strong T-SQL and PowerShell skills, and exposure to Azure SQL or Amazon RDS; DP-300 certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of SQL Server database administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration and upgrades.
• Experience with Always On, clustering, backup and disaster recovery.
• Strong T-SQL and PowerShell skills.
• Experience with performance tuning for large databases (>1 TB).
• Exposure to Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, and cloud migration projects.
• Microsoft DP-300 certification is preferred.
• Exposure to Oracle, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL is a plus.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server environments.
• Configure and manage Always On Availability Groups and clustering.
• Implement and maintain backup and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor database performance and troubleshoot operational issues.
• Perform performance tuning for databases larger than 1 TB.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize T-SQL queries and scripts.
• Use PowerShell to automate DB administration tasks.
• Support cloud database migration projects involving Azure SQL and Amazon RDS.
• Maintain database availability and reliability.
• Collaborate with technical teams to support enterprise database requirements.
