Job summary

Parsons Corporation in Dubai seeks a Senior Specialist - Data Centre Infrastructure to advise on resilient data centre planning, critical power and cooling systems, ICT infrastructure, and scalability from strategy through commissioning and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior technical advice to clients planning, expanding, modernising, or operating data centre infrastructure.
  • Develop data centre strategies, roadmaps, business cases, and implementation programmes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for mission-critical data centre and digital infrastructure assignments.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through strategy, design, delivery, commissioning and readiness stages.
  • Advise on electrical power, cooling, ICT, network, compute, storage, security, and operations.
  • Assess capacity, availability, resilience and infrastructure needs from workload forecasts.
  • Review architecture and hosting strategies to shape facility design and operating models.
  • Support scalable infrastructure for enterprise, cloud, colocation, hyperscale, AI, HPC and edge environments.
  • Ensure designs align with international standards, quality and regulatory requirements.

Role Context

The Senior Specialist - Data Centre Infrastructure will act as a technical authority across the complete lifecycle of mission-critical digital infrastructure. The role combines strategic advisory work with engineering knowledge, helping clients translate business requirements, workload forecasts, hosting strategies, resilience targets, and sustainability objectives into practical data centre programmes. The specialist will work across electrical, mechanical, ICT, architecture, security, sustainability, and operational disciplines. By reviewing strategies, designs, technology choices, and performance requirements, the position will help clients develop facilities capable of supporting demanding cloud, enterprise, colocation, AI, HPC, and edge computing workloads while maintaining availability and operational continuity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior technical advice to clients planning, expanding, modernising, or operating data centre infrastructure.
  • Support development of data centre strategies, technical concepts, business cases, infrastructure roadmaps, and implementation programmes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for mission-critical data centre and wider digital infrastructure assignments.
  • Guide multidisciplinary teams through strategy, planning, design, delivery, commissioning, and operational readiness stages.
  • Advise on resilient electrical power, cooling, ICT, network, compute, storage, security, and operational infrastructure.
  • Evaluate business requirements and workload forecasts to determine capacity, availability, resilience, and infrastructure needs.
  • Assess how application architecture and data hosting strategies influence facility design and operating models.
  • Support development of scalable infrastructure suitable for enterprise, cloud, colocation, hyperscale, AI, HPC, and edge environments.
  • Review technical studies, strategies, engineering outputs, concepts, and designs for quality and technical suitability.
  • Apply relevant international standards, regulatory requirements, and recognised data centre industry frameworks.
  • Advise clients on availability, redundancy, business continuity, maintainability, and operational performance requirements.
  • Incorporate sustainability objectives including energy efficiency, carbon reduction, efficient cooling, and responsible infrastructure planning.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies such as liquid cooling, AI infrastructure, high-performance computing, energy storage, and microgrids.
  • Coordinate technical considerations across electrical, mechanical, ICT, architectural, cybersecurity, sustainability, and operational disciplines.
  • Support commissioning and operational readiness requirements for mission-critical facilities.
  • Contribute to client meetings, technical workshops, executive presentations, and strategic advisory engagements.
  • Assist with identification of new opportunities and preparation of technical proposals for data centre assignments.
  • Contribute technical expertise to Parsons ' market positioning and expansion of its global data centre capabilities.
  • Maintain awareness of evolving data centre technologies, operating models, industry standards, and infrastructure trends.
Ideal Profile

Candidates should hold a Bachelor 's degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, ICT, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Centre Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

More than 10 years of professional experience is expected within data centres, digital infrastructure, technology infrastructure, or closely related mission-critical environments.

The position requires broad lifecycle experience rather than expertise limited to one design discipline.

Suitable candidates should understand how strategic requirements evolve into engineering solutions, construction programmes, commissioning activities, and operational infrastructure.

Strong candidates will demonstrate experience involving:

A Chartered Engineer designation or equivalent professional accreditation would strengthen the profile.

Experience advising on national, regional, campus-scale, or portfolio-wide data centre strategies is also valuable.
