The Senior Specialist - Data Centre Infrastructure will act as a technical authority across the complete lifecycle of mission-critical digital infrastructure. The role combines strategic advisory work with engineering knowledge, helping clients translate business requirements, workload forecasts, hosting strategies, resilience targets, and sustainability objectives into practical data centre programmes. The specialist will work across electrical, mechanical, ICT, architecture, security, sustainability, and operational disciplines. By reviewing strategies, designs, technology choices, and performance requirements, the position will help clients develop facilities capable of supporting demanding cloud, enterprise, colocation, AI, HPC, and edge computing workloads while maintaining availability and operational continuity.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor 's degree from an accredited university in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, ICT, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Data Centre Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
More than 10 years of professional experience is expected within data centres, digital infrastructure, technology infrastructure, or closely related mission-critical environments.
The position requires broad lifecycle experience rather than expertise limited to one design discipline.
Suitable candidates should understand how strategic requirements evolve into engineering solutions, construction programmes, commissioning activities, and operational infrastructure.
Strong candidates will demonstrate experience involving:
Experience with hyperscale, cloud, colocation, enterprise, AI, or edge data centres is highly relevant.
Knowledge of Uptime Institute requirements, TIA-942, EN 50600, BICSI 002, ASHRAE, and related international guidance is advantageous.
A Chartered Engineer designation or equivalent professional accreditation would strengthen the profile.
Experience advising on national, regional, campus-scale, or portfolio-wide data centre strategies is also valuable.
