Context
The Senior Sustainability Specialist – Infrastructure will support Parsons in delivering sustainability and environmental goals across complex infrastructure, master planning and built environment projects. The role contributes to project value by developing tailored sustainability strategies, guiding design and construction teams, managing certification requirements, reviewing consultant outputs, and helping clients achieve measurable environmental performance from early planning through project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to sustainability planning, environmental strategy and performance evaluation across complex infrastructure and masterplan projects.
- Manage multidisciplinary project workstreams requiring sustainability strategy, certification support, environmental documentation and technical coordination.
- Develop project‑specific sustainability strategies aligned with client aspirations, project requirements, regulatory expectations and international best practices.
- Support certification pathways for LEED, Envision, WELL, Estidama, Mostadam, BREEAM and other relevant sustainability frameworks.
- Guide project teams during planning, design development, tendering and construction supervision to achieve sustainability and environmental targets.
- Prepare technical reports, sustainability studies, certification documents, environmental submissions and project deliverables.
- Review and respond to RFIs, technical queries, consultant comments and stakeholder information requests related to sustainability performance.
- Prepare RFPs for appointing sustainability sub‑consultants and support the selection of suitable technical partners for project requirements.
- Assess, coordinate and manage appointed sub‑consultants while reviewing their sustainability outputs for accuracy, completeness and quality.
- Review deliverables prepared by consultants, suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with project sustainability objectives.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, design teams, construction teams and project managers to support achievement of sustainability goals.
- Stay updated on sustainability trends, emerging environmental solutions and global consultancy practices that can be applied to regional projects.
- Support leadership initiatives that strengthen the sustainability offering across project teams and the wider business.
- Work across teams and geographies to deliver consistent, high‑quality sustainability advice on multiple large‑scale projects in parallel.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Architecture, Engineering, Planning or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in international engineering design, project management or sustainability consultancy.
- Estidama PCRS PQP, LEED AP, WELL AP, BREEAM AP or similar sustainability credentials required or strongly preferred.
- Additional sustainability, environmental or green building credentials will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of current sustainability trends and practical methods to apply them across infrastructure and master planning projects.
- Experience developing sustainability strategies, certification documentation, environmental studies and technical reports.
- Ability to manage multiple large‑scale multidisciplinary projects in parallel.
- Detail‑oriented, well‑organized and able to work independently as well as within project teams.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills in English.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability and holistic approach to project sustainability challenges.
- Team player with the ability to collaborate across different disciplines, clients, consultants, contractors and geographies.
- Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Planning, natural sciences or a related field will be an advantage.
- Experience delivering bespoke sustainability consultancy advice for infrastructure, masterplan or built environment projects will be preferred.
