Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Dubai, UAE is seeking a Senior Solutions Designer - Transport Europe & MEA to lead design of innovative transport and network solutions for high-complexity opportunities across EMEA. You will translate business requirements into scalable solutions balancing operational excellence, financial performance, and sustainability.

The role requires strong leadership without formal authority, 5+ years in logistics or solution design, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transport or solution design.
• Experience with transport modelling, simulation and route optimization tools.
• Strong understanding of transport operations and end-to-end supply chain.

• Experience supporting business development, tenders, or sales pursuits is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead Solution Design workstreams to secure new business and renew existing contracts, driving growth and innovation in our transport solutions.
• Design complex transport networks and operating models supported by simulation, modelling, and routing optimization tools.
• Provide expert solution design and analytical insights for strategic customer opportunities, implementation projects, and supply chain re-engineering initiatives, ensuring alignment with operational and commercial objectives.
• Develop robust costing models, pricing strategies, and commercial recommendations that support profitable and competitive customer solutions.
• Work closely with Operations teams to ensure the successful implementation of awarded projects, fostering strong collaboration and a shared focus on customer success.
• Partner with Business Development and sector teams to identify customer requirements and create tailored transport solutions that meet operational, financial, and sustainability goals.
• Serve as a subject matter expert within assigned areas of expertise, driving knowledge sharing, capability development, research, and training across the organization.
• Create, present, and defend compelling solution concepts, business cases, and commercial proposals for both internal and customer audiences. Confidently challenge assumptions, influence decision-making, and represent DHL in senior customer engagements.
• Actively identify and leverage innovative practices, technologies, and industry trends across transport operations, fleet management, sustainability, automation, and digital solutions to enhance DHL’s value proposition.
• Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships across functions including Business Development, Operations, Finance, Procurement, and IT, influencing alignment and continuously improving solution design processes and deliverables.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and drive outcomes through influence rather than formal authority.

In this role, you will lead the design of innovative and commercially competitive transport and network solutions for high-complexity customer opportunities across the E&MEA region. You will work closely with customers and cross-functional stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable supply chain solutions, balancing operational excellence, financial performance, and sustainability objectives.

As a senior individual contributor, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy, lead solution design workstreams, influence senior stakeholders, and play a critical role in securing new business and renewing strategic customer partnerships.

Now, here’s what we need from you:

• 5+ years of experience in logistics, transport, supply chain engineering, or solution design, including ownership of complex transport and network optimization projects.
• Experience using transport modelling, simulation, and route optimization tools (e.g., Supply Chain Guru X, Paragon, Ortec, Log-hub, AnyLogic, or similar).
• Strong understanding of transport operations, logistics networks, and end-to-end supply chain processes.
• Proven ability to design scalable and innovative transport solutions for complex customer requirements.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to understand customer requirements, identify value drivers, and develop customer-centric solutions. Previous experience supporting business development, tenders, or sales pursuits is advantageous.
• Strong analytical thinking and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex data analysis, supported by experience with modelling and simulation tools.
• Excellent customer-facing, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex analyses into clear and actionable recommendations.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels without direct authority.
• Familiarity with DHL Supply Chain products, sectors, and capabilities is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.

It will also be a plus if you have...

• Previous experience in transport operations environments such as dispatching, transport planning, Control Tower operations, carrier management, or network management.
• Knowledge of sustainable transport and logistics solutions, including electric vehicles, HVO and alternative fuels, LNG/CNG vehicles, multimodal and intermodal networks, and carbon reporting methodologies.
• Previous experience supporting customers, operations, or business development activities within Middle East and Africa markets.
• Additional European, Arabic, or other E&MEA language skills.
• Experience working within highly matrixed, multinational organizations.
