Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Advisor - Safety, Health & Environment to lead and implement comprehensive safety, health, and environmental programs in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will mentor teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive risk-based decisions across operations.

You will develop emergency plans, coordinate with authorities, and advance safety culture through targeted training and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in civil engineering, environmental science, or safety discipline.
• NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent certification.
• 5–7 years in SH&E with 3+ in senior role.
• Experience in UAE/Middle East and knowledge of local laws.
• Strong risk assessment, audit, and incident investigation capabilities.
• Leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement company-wide safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses across operations.
• Design emergency response and crisis management plans.
• Coordinate with UAE authorities and emergency services.
• Review project plans to mitigate safety and environmental risks.
• Deliver targeted SH&E training at all levels.
• Perform audits and compliance reviews and recommend corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into decisions.
• Analyze incident data to identify trends and drive improvements.
• Mentor SH&E teams and stay current with regulations.
• Prepare reports for senior leadership.
