Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi, UAE is seeking an Advisor Safety, Health & Environment to lead the development and oversight of comprehensive safety programs across operations. You will ensure compliance with UAE labor laws and international standards, collaborating with department heads to foster a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.

The role requires strong risk assessment, incident investigation, and training delivery skills, with NEBOSH certification and a track record of leading safety

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in safety, health and environment management.
• In-depth knowledge of UAE labor laws and safety regulations.
• Proven expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment and mitigation.
• Strong proficiency in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Experience delivering effective safety training programs.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities for team development.
• NEBOSH certification or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain safety, health and environmental policies aligned with UAE regulations and best practices.
• Conduct hazard assessments and risk analyses to identify dangers and mitigation strategies.
• Perform audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate incidents and near-misses; document findings and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver safety training and awareness programs across all levels of the organization.
• Maintain detailed records of safety performance metrics and compliance documentation.
• Collaborate with operational teams to integrate safety into planning and execution.
• Monitor effectiveness of safety programs and drive continuous improvement.
