Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi seeks an experienced Resident Engineer to supervise building construction on-site, ensuring design compliance and top-quality safety standards throughout the project lifecycle. You will oversee daily activities, coordinate with contractors and engineers, and lead QA/QC processes to resolve technical issues promptly.

The ideal candidate has extensive UAE construction experience, BIM familiarity, and strong leadership.

Qualifications

• 15+ years post-undergraduate experience
• 5+ years in a senior technical position
• Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural engineering; PMP preferred
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies and codes
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specs
• QA/QC expertise for structural, MEP systems
• Experience with BIM and digital docs is preferred
• Excellent communication and stakeholder coordination skills

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily site inspections to monitor progress and quality
• Verify compliance with codes, safety regulations, and project requirements
• Review and approve construction materials and methods
• Maintain site documentation: reports, records, photos
• Coordinate with contractors, architects and engineers
• Identify deviations and recommend corrective actions
• Monitor HSE compliance and report incidents
• Prepare progress reports for management and stakeholders
• Manage site logistics and traffic flow
• Perform QA/QC testing on systems and assemblies
• Maintain records for project archives
• Collaborate to resolve construction challenges
