Job summary

EDGE, based in Abu Dhabi, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to architect and develop real-time embedded software for engine control systems (ECUs/FADECs) used in gas turbine engines. The role demands deep embedded expertise and leadership across current and future platforms.

You will work on DO-178C and ARP4754A guided development, interfacing with MATLAB/Simulink models and hardware, and coordinating with hardware engineers for safe, reliable firmware delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of embedded software development experience in safety-critical systems.
• Experience with bare-metal and RTOS-based embedded software development.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement real-time embedded software for engine control units (ECUs).
• Develop safety-critical software compliant with DO-178C, MISRA, ISO 26262 where applicable.
• Interface with MATLAB/Simulink models and code generation tools.
• Integrate firmware with hardware (MCUs, FPGAs, sensors, actuators).
• Develop SIL and HIL tests using dSPACE/NI/Vector tools.
• Lead root-cause analysis and debugging with oscillosopes and analyzers.
• Create software requirements and verification artifacts per DO-178C and ARP4754A.
