Job summary

KN International Architects and Engineers LLC in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our Head Office team. You will lead pre-contract cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and tender documentation for major UAE infrastructure projects, ensuring commercial viability and client alignment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 8–12 years of relevant experience in UAE infrastructure projects, including pre-contract work.
• Strong experience in pre-contract quantity surveying, cost estimation, BOQ preparation, and tendering.
• Good understanding of drawings, specifications, contracts, and commercial requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and estimation tools CostX or PlanSwift.
• Experience using Primavera P6 is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Review design drawings, specs, and contract documents to understand project requirements and scope.
• Prepare and check quantity take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs) for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment, and other project costs.
• Document the basis of estimates, including pricing, assumptions, exclusions, and cost comparisons.
• Break down project scope into work packages to support accurate cost estimation.
• Prepare tender documents, scope sheets, and RFQs from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review quotations and compare costs with historical data and similar projects.
• Identify potential commercial and contractual risks and assess their impact on costs.
• Maintain and update cost databases using historical data and market prices.
• Coordinate with engineers, estimators, and team members to prepare accurate estimates.
