Role Context The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide commercial and contractual oversight across major infrastructure assignments, ensuring that measurements, valuations, payments, variations, claims, and cost records are accurate and contractually justified. The role requires close coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, engineers, and other members of the supervision team. Effective commercial control will help protect project budgets, maintain reliable financial records, support defensible contractual decisions, and ensure payments and variations are processed in accordance with contract requirements.
Candidates should hold a Bachelor 's or Master 's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a closely related field. Professional membership of MRICS is required. A minimum of 15 years of relevant professional experience is required, including substantial involvement in prime contract administration for major roads and large infrastructure projects. Applicants should demonstrate strong expertise in quantity measurement, payment certification, variation assessment, claims review, cost reporting, and commercial correspondence. Detailed working knowledge of CESMM, FIDIC, and other relevant contractual and measurement standards is essential. Candidates should be capable of reviewing BOQs, interim valuations, final measurements, change orders, new rates, and contractor financial submissions. Previous consultancy experience will be highly valuable. Direct experience working on projects in Dubai is preferred. Existing UAE client approvals will provide an advantage. Applicants should be able to operate effectively in a senior or management capacity and provide technical guidance to other quantity surveying personnel. Strong written and spoken communication skills, commercial judgment, negotiation capability, and stakeholder management are required. Practical knowledge of software commonly used for contract administration, reporting, cost management, and document control is expected.
