Job summary

Compass Project Consulting in Abu Dhabi seeks a Quantity Surveyor to lead commercial and cost management across civil, building and MEP works on refurbishment and new-build projects. You will prepare, review and manage quantities, valuations, variations, claims and cost reports.

Applicants should have 3+ years UAE experience and a degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management; MRICS preferred but not required. Based in Abu Dhabi or willing to commute daily.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years UAE experience in construction and refurbishment projects.
• Strong experience in quantity surveying and cost management across civil/building and MEP.
• Abu Dhabi residents preferred; commuting to Abu Dhabi daily if based elsewhere.
• MRICS is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and quantity surveying aspects of construction and refurbishment works throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide cost management and commercial support for both civil/building and MEP works.
• Prepare, review, and manage quantities, valuations, variations, claims, and cost reports.
• Monitor project costs and commercial performance against the approved budget.
• Review contractor submissions, measurements, payment applications, and supporting documentation.
• Support the assessment and management of variations, claims, and final accounts.
• Coordinate with project, engineering, and site teams to ensure accurate commercial management across all disciplines.
• Provide commercial advice and identify potential cost and contractual risks.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant UAE experience.
• Proven experience in construction and refurbishment projects.
• Good understanding of both civil/building and MEP works, with the ability to manage commercial aspects across both disciplines.
• Strong experience in Quantity Surveying and Cost Management.
• Experience in post-contract commercial management, including valuations, variations, claims, cost reporting, and final accounts.
• Candidates based in Abu Dhabi are preferred. Candidates based elsewhere must be willing and able to commute to Abu Dhabi daily.
• MRICS is preferred but not required.
• The position may be considered at QS or Project QS level, depending on the candidate’s experience and suitability.
