About the Role Scan Tech General Trading LLC is hiring a QA Engineer to own quality across the EGARAGI platform, covering web, iOS, Android, admin panel, vendor panel, and APIs. The role requires technical understanding of how the platform is built, the ability to investigate the cause of a defect before reporting it, and the ability to document defects in a form that developers can act on directly.

Requirements for the Role

• Technical knowledge of web fundamentals: URLs and query parameters, HTTP methods and status codes, request and response headers, cookies and tokens, caching, and the distinction between frontend, backend, and data defects.
• Ability to investigate defects using browser developer tools, device logs, and API responses before reporting.
• Test design skills covering edge cases, boundary values, role and permission combinations, invalid input, interrupted flows, and weak or offline network conditions.
• Precise defect reporting, including steps to reproduce, environment, build number, expected and actual behavior, severity, priority, screenshots or recordings, logs, and the relevant API request and response.
• Ability to evaluate design quality. The role does not require producing designs, but requires identifying inconsistent spacing, broken alignment, unclear hierarchy, mismatched components, missing empty, loading, and error states, low contrast, small tap targets, and layout breakage at specific breakpoints, and explaining what should be improved.
• Ability to assess release readiness and support that assessment with evidence.

Key Responsibilities

Testing and coverage

• Perform manual and automated testing across web, Android, iOS, admin panel, vendor panel, and APIs.
• Write and maintain test plans, test cases, test scenarios, and regression suites.
• Execute functional, regression, smoke, sanity, integration, system, and UAT testing.
• Perform full regression testing before every production release and issue a release readiness report.

Technical validation

• Perform API testing using Postman, Swagger, or equivalent, covering authentication, authorization, error responses, pagination, and payload validation.
• Test authentication flows, OTP, 2FA, sessions, token expiry, and role-based access control.
• Perform database validation using SQL to confirm that displayed data matches stored data.
• Validate analytics and tracking events (Firebase, GA4, and similar), including event names, parameters, and trigger conditions.
• Test third-party integrations, including payment and messaging providers, and their failure paths.
• Identify basic security and authorization issues, including broken access control, exposed identifiers, and unvalidated input.
• Conduct basic performance and load testing.

Automation

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts for regression and critical user journeys.
• Maintain the stability of the automation suite and resolve flaky tests.
• Support test execution within CI/CD pipelines.

Platform and device coverage

• Test on macOS and Windows.
• Test on Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge, including responsive behavior.
• Test on multiple physical iOS and Android devices across different screen sizes and OS versions.
• Validate builds distributed through TestFlight, Firebase App Distribution, and store release channels.
• Validate Arabic and English localization, including right-to-left layout, text truncation, number and date formatting, and mixed-direction content.

Process

• Manage defects through the full lifecycle in Jira, from reporting to retest to closure.
• Identify and record the environment in which each defect was found (development, staging, production).
• Work directly with Product, Development, DevOps, and Design.
