Job summary

SGS is seeking an experienced QC Inspector – Welding & Structural for offshore projects. Perform welding and structural inspections during fabrication, assembly, and installation activities.

You will verify compliance with WPS, ITPs, drawings and project specifications; witness NDT activities and coordinate with NDT contractors; ensure fabrication adheres to AWS D1.1, ASME and EEMUA 158. This role requires a CSWIP 3.1/3.2 or AWS cert and 10+ years' experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 10+ years total experience, with 5+ years post-CSWIP / AWS.
• Proven offshore topside & jacket fabrication experience.
• CSWIP 3.1/3.2 and AWS certificates are mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of welding inspection, structural fabrication & NDT coordination.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding and structural inspections during fabrication, assembly, and installation activities.
• Verify compliance with approved WPS, ITPs, drawings, and project specifications.
• Monitor and witness NDT activities and coordinate with NDT contractors.
• Ensure fabrication activities comply with AWS D1.1, ASME, and EEMUA 158 codes and standards.
• Conduct inspections for offshore topside and jacket fabrication, including fit-up, welding, and dimensional checks.
