Job summary

Bureau Veritas do Brasil in the UAE is seeking an experienced QA/QC professional to verify vendor documents, review material certificates, and witness welding procedures and NDT activities on onshore and offshore projects.

You will ensure compliance with ASME, AWS, API and ISO codes, prepare concise inspection reports, and coordinate with EPC contractors to manage non-conformances and material control throughout fabrication and testing.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Welding or Metallurgical Engineering.
  • CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-Sr, CWI or ERS welding inspection qualifications desirable.
  • BGAS Level 2 or NACE Level 1 certification requirements.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience in oil & gas/petrochemical inspection and third-party verification.
  • Experience in review/approval of multidiscipline ITPs, procedures and NCRs.

Responsibilities

  • Understand Vendor/Manufacturer Quality System requirements.
  • Review and verify Manufacturer/Vendor documents per PO and material specs.
  • Carry out Material Receiving Inspection of all permanent project material.
  • Witness, verify and endorse welding qualifications.
  • Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans.
  • Review and approve material certificates.
  • Inspect welding and NDT activities and PWHT.
  • Review radiographs/NDT reports.
  • Sign weld/NDT logs.
  • Inspect pressure vessels, heat exchangers and piping during fabrication.
  • Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic testing.
  • Oversee surface preparation, painting and insulation inspection.
  • Ensure material control and preservation procedures.
  • Raise non-conformance reports and track corrective actions.
  • Prepare concise weekly/monthly inspection reports.

Job Description:
Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Welding or Metallurgical Engineering. CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-Sr, CWI or ERS welding inspection and PCN level II qualification is desirable and BGAS Level 2 or NACE Level 1 certification requirements.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in onshore and offshore oil and gas/ petrochemical industry, third party inspection and verification of activities including Welding/ Process Piping/ Mechanical Equipment, Painting, Coating, Wrapping, Hydro testing and advance NDT methods with ability to assess NDT procedures, experience in review and approval of multidiscipline ITPs, procedures, site quires, NCR and concession requests.
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English language including writing of technical reports / procedures and QA/QC documentation
  • Proven experience in liaising with EPC Contractors.
  • Computer literate and familiarity with codes ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO and BS.

  • Monitor, inspect and approve all welding including welding procedures and NDT works.
  • Monitor, review and approve all PWHT works.
  • Review of all radiographs/NDT reports.
  • Signing of weld / NDT log.
  • Inspection of Pressure vessels, Heat Exchangers, Pressurized piping and structural works during fabrication.
  • Witness Hydrostatic & Pneumatic testing.
  • Surface preparation, Painting & Insulation inspection.
  • Good understanding of Material control procedures and Material Preservation and storage procedures.
  • Familiar with International codes like ASME/ ANSI, API, AWS, BP, BS, ISO codes, ISO EN 1024 etc.
  • Raising Non-conformance reports and verifying Corrective & preventive actions on all project materials during receiving inspection.
  • Ability to prepare concise weekly and monthly inspection reports.
