Job summary

Emirates Electrical & Instrumentation Company seeks a senior Welding Inspector to oversee welding activities on piping, structures and pressure vessels for oil & gas projects. You will review WPS/PQR, verify welder qualifications, monitor preheat, interpass temps, welding parameters and post-weld QA.

The ideal candidate holds CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI, ASNT/PCN Level II, and has 8+ years of welding inspection with offshore experience, preferably ADNOC offshore.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor degree in Mechanical, Metallurgical or Welding Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years welding inspection experience in Oil & Gas projects.
• Minimum 3–5 years offshore project experience.
• ADNOC Offshore experience is preferred.
• CSWIP 3.1 or AWS-CWI certification is mandatory.
• ASNT/PCN Level II certification in relevant NDT methods is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of ASME IX, ASME B31.3, API 1104, AWS D1.1 and ADNOC standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect welding activities for piping, pipelines, structures, pressure vessels and equipment.
• Review approved WPS/PQR and welder qualification records; verify welder qualifications before assigning welding activities.
• Coordinate NDT activities including RT/UT/MT/PT and PMI; review NDT reports and monitor repairs of welding defects.
• Prepare and submit inspection requests to client or consultant; maintain weld maps and inspection records.
• Witness procedure qualification tests and welder qualification tests; support offshore brownfield shutdown and tie-ins.

Job description

Inspect welding activities for piping pipelines structures pressure vessels and equipment Review approved WPS PQR and welder qualification records Verify welder qualifications before assigning welding activities Conduct material identification joint fit-up and visual welding inspections Verify welding consumables storage conditions baking and issuance records Monitor preheating interpass temperature welding parameters and post-weld heat treatment Ensure welding activities comply with approved drawings and specifications Coordinate NDT activities including RT UT MT PT and PMI Review NDT reports and monitor the repair of welding defects Prepare and submit inspection requests to the client or consultant Maintain weld maps inspection records NDT status and welder performance reports Issue non-conformance reports and monitor corrective and preventive actions Coordinate with construction engineering NDT client and third-party inspection teams Participate in material receiving inspections and verify material certificates Witness procedure qualification tests and welder qualification tests Support pressure testing reinstatement mechanical completion and final handover Prepare daily and weekly quality reports Ensure compliance with ADNOC quality and HSE requirements Support offshore brownfield shutdown and tie-in activities Maintain complete quality dossiers and final project documentation
