Job Overview
The Senior Product Manager will shape and deliver payments, remittances, digital wallets, embedded finance, credit, rewards, insurance, and data monetization products within the Blue ecosystem. The role owns product strategy, roadmap priorities, commercial outcomes, regulatory alignment, and end‑to‑end delivery of scalable consumer‑facing financial solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and own the long‑term vision for financial services products within the Blue ecosystem.
- Build and maintain a prioritized roadmap covering payments, remittances, wallets, embedded finance, lending, rewards, subscriptions, insurance, and related digital propositions.
- Identify unmet customer needs and assess new opportunities using market research, behavioural data, competitor analysis, and commercial modelling.
- Translate business strategy into measurable product outcomes, key performance indicators, and delivery priorities.
- Establish clear product principles that balance customer experience, commercial value, scalability, security, and regulatory viability.
- Lead the complete product lifecycle from discovery and validation through requirements, development, launch, measurement, and optimisation.
- Prepare detailed product requirement documents, user journeys, acceptance criteria, functional and non‑functional requirements.
- Work closely with engineering teams to prioritise backlogs, resolve dependencies, and manage delivery trade‑offs.
- Coordinate with design teams to create intuitive and accessible customer experiences across digital financial journeys.
- Ensure product requirements address performance, security, scalability, availability, data protection, and operational support.
- Track delivery progress and intervene early when risks could affect scope, quality, cost, or launch timelines.
- Plan and execute controlled product launches with clear readiness criteria and post‑launch monitoring.
- Run experiments, pilot programmes, usability testing, and A‑B tests to validate product decisions.
- Use customer feedback and performance data to refine features after launch.
- Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and Information Security teams throughout product development.
- Ensure financial services products meet relevant KYC, AML, PCI, fraud prevention, consumer protection, and data privacy requirements.
- Integrate compliance controls into customer journeys without creating unnecessary friction.
- Assess regulatory and operational implications before introducing new financial features or partnerships.
- Manage dependencies with banks, payment service providers, fintech companies, insurers, credit providers, and other external partners.
- Evaluate partner capabilities, integration requirements, commercial models, service levels, and operational risks.
- Collaborate with procurement, legal, technology, and commercial teams during partner selection and contracting.
- Leverage customer data, behavioural signals, segmentation, and AI‑generated insights to personalise financial experiences.
- Define monetisation models involving interchange, float income, partner commissions, subscription fees, lending revenue, and rewards economics.
- Track customer funnels, transaction frequency, conversion, retention, revenue, and product engagement.
- Monitor unit economics and recommend improvements to acquisition costs, servicing expenses, partner fees, and contribution margins.
- Work with data teams to establish reliable dashboards, event tracking, reporting definitions, and product analytics.
- Act as the principal owner for financial services products across internal and external stakeholders.
- Align engineering, design, compliance, operations, customer service, finance, marketing, and commercial teams around shared product goals.
- Develop go‑to‑market plans with commercial and marketing stakeholders.
- Present roadmap updates, product performance, investment cases, risks, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
- Maintain clear product documentation, decision records, assumptions, dependencies, and governance evidence.
- Support operational teams with product training, launch materials, escalation procedures, and service readiness.
- Monitor market developments, regulatory expectations, emerging fintech models, and customer behaviour to guide future product investment.
Ideal Profile
- Minimum 12 years of progressive product management experience.
- At least 3–5 years of direct experience within financial services, fintech, payments, digital wallets, rewards, lending, or embedded finance.
- Proven success launching and scaling consumer‑facing digital products.
- Strong understanding of payment processing, remittance flows, wallet ecosystems, credit propositions, partner integrations, and digital financial journeys.
- Experience developing product strategies, roadmaps, business cases, and measurable performance objectives.
- Hands‑on background working with engineering, product design, data, compliance, risk, legal, finance, and commercial teams.
- Familiarity with KYC, AML, PCI, fraud prevention, information security, consumer protection, and data privacy concepts.
- Experience managing relationships with banks, payment service providers, fintech partners, technology vendors, or regulators.
- Ability to define functional and non‑functional requirements for secure and scalable digital products.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using funnel metrics, experimentation, customer segmentation, and unit economics.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate monetisation opportunities and build commercially viable product propositions.
- Confident stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior leaders and cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to present complex technical, regulatory, and commercial information in a clear decision‑oriented format.
- Strong problem‑solving ability with sound judgment under changing priorities.
