Qualifications

• Must have hands-on subcontract procurement experience across structural, architectural and MEP works.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and coordination skills are essential.

• Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems such as SAP or iTWO.

Responsibilities

Job description

The position is for a Senior Procurement Engineer to join our Procurement team in Abu Dhabi, supporting various building construction projects across our UAE operations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in subcontract procurement within a main contracting environment, with experience managing structural, architectural and MEP subcontract packages.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage subcontract procurement packages across structural, architectural and MEP works, from tender enquiry through to award.
• Review project drawings, specifications, BOQs and scopes of work to establish procurement requirements.
• Prepare and issue RFQs, evaluate subcontractor quotations and coordinate technical and commercial clarifications.
• Conduct detailed bid evaluations, prepare comparison sheets and recommend subcontract awards.
• Negotiate pricing, contractual terms and commercial conditions with subcontractors.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Contracts, QS and project teams to ensure technical compliance and alignment with project requirements.
• Identify procurement risks, scope gaps and commercial deviations in subcontractor proposals.
• Maintain procurement schedules, tender documentation and progress reports.

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
• 5-10 years of procurement experience within the building construction industry.
• UAE main contractor experience is strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in subcontract procurement, particularly structural, architectural and MEP packages.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, BOQs and subcontract tendering processes.
• Experience in RFQ preparation, technical and commercial bid evaluations, negotiations and subcontract awards.
• Familiarity with the UAE subcontractor and specialist supplier market.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Excel.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, iTWO or equivalent is an advantage.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
