Job summary

Emirates Flight Catering seeks a seasoned Regulatory and Labeling Specialist to oversee product specifications, regulatory compliance, and labeling across the UAE and GCC. You will manage registrations with SFDA, Dubai Municipality, and other authorities, ensuring accurate specifications and labeling for all products and documentation.

Job description

The role is responsible for overseeing product specifications, regulatory compliance, product registrations, and labelling requirements across the UAE and GCC markets. The position ensures that products, raw materials, finished goods, and associated documentation remain compliant with applicable regulatory and customer requirements.

The role manages product registrations with SFDA, Dubai Municipality, and other GCC regulatory authorities, while ensuring specifications, production routings, nutritional information, and labelling documentation are accurate, current, and maintained to the required standards. It also oversees the labelling compliance process, including Arabic translations, artwork verification, and regulatory requirements.

A key part of the role is ensuring the Specifications function remains audit-ready and supports successful compliance with BRCGS, Dubai Municipality, customer, internal, and other external audit requirements. The position works closely with Quality, Vendor Assurance, Procurement, Operations, suppliers, and other stakeholders to address specification, regulatory, and compliance matters.

The role also provides cross-functional coordination through regular meetings with Quality Operations, suppliers, and relevant stakeholders, ensuring regulatory and specification matters are effectively managed, communicated, and resolved in a timely manner.

Ensures the team's efficiency, productivity, skills, and career growth by managing task delegation, workload management, career development, and training.

Implement efficient labelling processes at FP, ensuring accurate and compliant labels for all products, streamlined label creation and registration, and successful internal validation.

Conduct thorough data validation and sign-off for all labelling procedures, ensuring compliance and accuracy in label creation, translation, registration, and verification.

Capture necessary data for labelling and specifications in upcoming product launches, effectively manage customer development projects, and ensure satisfaction of customer requirements.

Verify and finalize raw materials and finished goods specifications to maintain consistent product quality and comply with customer requirements.

Prepare specifications and labels for audits, conduct internal audits on routing and labelling procedures, and address findings to ensure compliance with regulations and customer requirements.

Attend meetings to address specification availability challenges, validate meal specifications through sensory sessions, and oversee food technology projects across all proteins.

Drive the digitalization of Food Point specifications through the implementation of a Specification Management Software for improved efficiency and streamlined processes.

Qualifications

Education Qualification:

• Bachelor’s degree in food science, Food Technology, Food Engineering, or a related field.
• Specialized certifications or training in food processing, quality control, food safety, or relevant areas may be beneficial.
• Additional advanced degrees or professional qualifications in the field of food technology or related disciplines may be preferred or required for certain positions.

Work Experience:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in food processing or a related field, preferably in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of food production processes, quality control standards, and regulatory compliance.
• Proven experience in managing processing operations, optimizing production efficiency, and ensuring product quality and safety.
• Familiarity with food safety management systems, HACCP principles, and industry best practices.
• Experience in developing and implementing processing strategies, techniques, and standards to improve operational performance.
• Track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams, providing technical guidance, and managing projects.
• Knowledge of relevant food regulations, labelling requirements, and industry trends.
• Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process optimization methodologies.
