Job summary

Penspen Ltd in the UAE is seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to support design, engineering and optimization of petrochemical facilities across project phases. The role will ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions in line with industry standards and client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform process design, simulations, heat and material balances, equipment sizing, and hydraulic calculations.
• Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, process datasheets, philosophies, and technical specifications.
• Lead/participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and other process safety reviews.
• Provide technical input during FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
• Review vendor documentation and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Identify process optimization, debottlenecking, and energy-efficiency opportunities.

The role will be responsible for process engineering activities across project phases, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions in accordance with applicable industry standards and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform process design, simulations, heat and material balances, equipment sizing, and hydraulic calculations.
• Demonstrated experience in facilities involving chemicals such as Formaldehyde, LAO (Linear Alpha Olefins), Amino Resins, Epoxy Resins, and other relevant petrochemical and specialty chemical processes.
• Develop and review PFDs, P&IDs, process datasheets, philosophies, and technical specifications.
• Lead/participate in HAZOP, HAZID, SIL and other process safety reviews.
• Provide technical input during FEED, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
• Review vendor documentation and coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Identify process optimization, debottlenecking, and energy-efficiency opportunities.

Qualification / Experience (Skills):

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years' relevant experience in Oil & Gas (5) years in GCC region.
• Must have at least Five (5) years of experience in similar position for international major Oil & Gas or Petrochemical projects
• Experience with major Petrochemicals projects.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, site-based environment.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
