Job summary

EDGE is seeking an experienced Power Electronics Engineer in Abu Dhabi to design and develop high-performance motor drive hardware for propulsion applications. You will work on power electronics architectures, gate driver circuits, and high-power switching stages, coordinating with system and certification teams.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in power electronics, mastery of MOSFET/IGBT selection, thermal derating, and knowledge of MIL-STD standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
Minimum 5 years hands-on experience in power electronics and motor drive hardware design.
Strong knowledge of switching converter topologies (buck, boost, flyback, half/full bridge, three-phase inverter).
Experience with gate driver design, protection, and thermal derating.

Responsibilities

Develop power electronics architectures for motor drive and MGU.
Design inverter, rectifier, and bridge stages for PMSM, BLDC, and BDC machines.
Design gate driver, protection, and isolation circuits for high-power switching stages.
Plan and support power stage bring-up, integration, and qualification tests.
Work with system, software, electrical machine, test, and certification teams.
