Job summary

POWERTECH in Abu Dhabi invites an experienced Senior Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design, development, testing, and optimization of advanced power electronic systems for aerospace propulsion. You will work on AC/DC, DC/DC converters, motor drives, and energy management, applying SiC/GaN devices, Altium designs, and MATLAB/Simulink models within a multidisciplinary team.

This role requires 10+ years in power electronics, a strong command of topologies and control methods, and a focus on

Qualifications

Bachelor’s/MSc/PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
10+ years of experience in power electronics design and development.
Strong understanding of power conversion topologies, PWM, digital control, and embedded platforms.

Responsibilities

Design and develop power converters, inverters, rectifiers and motor drive systems.
Select components for power semiconductors, magnetics, capacitors and protection devices.
Develop electrical schematics, PCB layouts and wiring diagrams.
Design control algorithms for power conversion and motor control.
Evaluate SiC and GaN power devices for advanced solutions.
Optimize DC-DC converters, inverters and motor drives for energy management.
Circuit design and PCB layout in Altium Designer with good signal integrity.
Model and validate system behavior with MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, LTspice.
