Job summary

Al Tayer Group in the UAE seeks a Post Contract Commercial Lead to manage larger value projects and supervise junior commercial staff on site.

You will assess BOQs, handle variations, prepare subcontracts, issue payment certificates, and ensure timely cost reporting and final accounts through project completion.

The role requires 7–10 years in post-contract QS, a construction discipline degree, and strong knowledge of local market practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate in construction discipline or equivalent.
• 7–10 years relevant experience with at least 7 years in post-contract QS.
• Local market knowledge would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Assess tender BOQ vs IFC information to update BOQ.
• Float enquiries for final offers and adjudicate quotations.
• Prepare sub-contract orders and purchase orders with drawings, Programme & BOQ’s.
• Detect variations and changes to the contract with the Project team.
• Prepare, negotiate and conclude variations and claims with Sub Contractors and Clients.
• Prepare monthly project valuation and ensure timely submittals to the employer.
• Procure insurances and bonds for the project.
• Review and issue monthly payment certificates based on progress.
• General contract administration including drafting notices (delay, variations, claims).
• Identify, collate, review, and submit variations to the Employer.
• Prepare claims for extensions of time with adequate records.
• Undertake monthly cost reporting with the project manager and budget forecasts.
• Prepare and conclude subcontract and Employer final accounts at completion.
• Conclude commercial matters during the defects liability period (DLP).
• Assist in estimation of potential projects when estimation is at capacity.
