Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced PMC Specialist Process Engineer in Abu Dhabi to deliver process excellence across major offshore and onshore projects within a Project Management Consultancy framework.

You will lead process engineering activities, coordinate with client, EPC and operations teams, review design deliverables, and ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation from design through start-up. 15+ years in oil & gas offshore is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas.
• Extensive experience in Oil and Gas Offshore projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent technical team and interpersonal skills.
• Experience and knowledge of relevant international codes and standards.
• Knowledge of engineering computer programs and general business software.
• Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead process engineering across all project phases.
• Coordinate process engineering with client, EPC, operations, commissioning, and regulators.
• Review and verify process design implementation in engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Develop, review, and approve process design philosophies, design basis documents, specifications, studies, calculations, and engineering deliverables.
• Review process simulations, heat and material balances, P&IDs, utility diagrams, and data sheets.
• Verify process design calculations including hydraulic analysis, line sizing, pressure drop, relief and flare system design, equipment sizing, pump and compressor performance.
• Review and approve process engineering deliverables prepared by EPC contractors.
• Ensure process requirements are incorporated into equipment specs, piping layouts, control philosophies, and commissioning documentation.
• Coordinate process engineering interfaces with multiple disciplines.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, and design reviews.
• Provide guidance on process optimization, energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and operability.
• Support system completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, start-up, and performance testing.
• Provide regular progress reports, risk summaries, and recommendations to project leadership.
• Promote a culture of process engineering excellence across the PMC and project teams.
