Job summary

Inception42 in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to strengthen production reliability for internal platforms and external customers. You will partner with Product Engineering, Application Support, and Cloud teams to detect issues early, restore services efficiently and prevent recurrence.

The role emphasizes incident response, diagnostics across code, containers and databases, and the development of robust runbooks and tooling to reduce manual toil.

Qualifications

• Strong production application support or reliability engineering experience with software products, including complex incidents and customer-facing technical communication.
• Ability to read and debug application code in languages such as Python, Java, C#, Go or JavaScript/TypeScript, and connect code behavior with runtime evidence.
• Ability to write maintainable automation or tooling, use Git, review changes and apply tests before production use.
• Practical experience with observability, distributed tracing, alerting and service health measures.
• Working knowledge of Linux, containers, cloud services, APIs, databases and networking to troubleshoot across a distributed app.
• Experience with CI/CD, production change validation, incident response and recovery, with attention to access controls and customer data.
• Strong communication and independent problem-solving skills, with evidence of reducing recurring failures or operational effort through engineering.

Responsibilities

• Understand services end to end, including user journeys, components, data flows and dependencies.
• Implement service level indicators and reliability objectives with service owners.
• Build and improve logs, metrics, traces, dashboards and alerting for rapid issue identification.
• Diagnose production issues across code, APIs, queues, databases, containers and services.
• Read source code and trace execution to explain failures; write automated tooling and improvements.
• Respond to incidents and coordinate technical recovery with clear updates to stakeholders.
• Communicate findings to customers and internal users during investigations.
• Improve deployment readiness, health checks and rollback criteria with Engineering.
• Identify capacity limits and perform performance and resilience testing.
• Maintain runbooks and access controls; share knowledge for proven outcomes.
• Within six months: dependencies documented, observability gaps addressed, improvements made.
• Within twelve months: reliability measures improved, recurring incidents reduced, release readiness informed.
