Job summary

Wood is seeking an experienced Piping Test Pack Engineer to plan, prepare and execute piping test activities for major oil and gas projects in the UAE. You will ensure mechanical completion, testing readiness, and handover to commissioning teams while complying with ASME B31.3 and HSE requirements.

You will work with construction, QA/QC and commissioning teams to coordinate test packs, documentation and witness testing, supporting safe, efficient hydrostatic and pneumatic tests and timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in oil & gas, petrochemical, or EPC.
• Proven piping pressure testing and system handover experience.
• Strong QA/QC, NDT, and inspection knowledge.
• Ability to read P&IDs, isometrics, and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed piping test packs using approved P&IDs, isometrics, line lists, and docs.
• Define system boundaries to align with commissioning priorities.
• Review piping drawings to ensure readiness for testing.
• Coordinate with construction teams for installed and ready piping.
• Ensure welding, NDT, and inspection are completed and documented prior to testing.
• Verify material traceability and compliance with ASME B31.3.
• Plan and execute hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests.
• Witness and supervise pressure testing ensuring safety and technical compliance.
• Ensure piping systems are flushed, cleaned, and reinstated.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for inspection approvals.
• Identify and close punch list items.
• Maintain test pack registers and progress.
• Submit test dossiers including reports and certificates.
• Interface with pre-commissioning and commissioning teams.
• Ensure compliance with HSE policies during testing.
• Liaise with subcontractors, vendors, and client reps.
• Support Mechanical Completion and Ready for Commissioning certification.
• Provide updates on testing progress and constraints.
• Resolve technical issues related to testing and documentation.
• Participate in audits, inspections, client reviews.
