Job summary

EDGE in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Principal Engineer - Performance to lead performance analyses across the full aerospace development lifecycle, translating mission needs into constraints and guiding models for sizing, trajectory, and optimization.

You will integrate aerodynamic, propulsion, mass, structural and energy data, drive uncertainty analyses, mentor engineers, and support reviews from SRR to CDR while advancing digital engineering practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical, Systems, Electrical, Energy, Applied Mathematics, or a related engineering discipline.
• Typically 10+ years of relevant aircraft, aerospace vehicle design, flight mechanics, sizing, or performance engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft design, flight mechanics, aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties, energy systems, mission analysis, and performance prediction.

Responsibilities

• Translate mission requirements into measurable performance objectives and analysis cases.
• Lead performance analysis across sizing, takeoff, climb, cruise, range, endurance, and maneuver.
• Develop and maintain performance models: point-performance, trajectory, sizing, and optimization.
• Integrate data to establish credible vehicle-level performance and design drivers.
• Conduct trade studies, sensitivity, uncertainty analyses, and performance budgets.
