Job summary

EDGE is seeking a senior engineer to perform FEA, static/dynamic/thermal analysis and structural calculations to support mechanical and vehicle systems within a defense-oriented technology group in Abu Dhabi.

You will collaborate with design teams to define load cases, set boundary conditions and validate simulations against physical testing, delivering reports and design recommendations while advancing weight reduction and reliability goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Automotive / Mechatronics required; Master’s degree advantageous.
• Minimum 10+ years of relevant engineering experience with strong FEA/structural-analysis expertise.
• Automotive, defense, heavy-vehicle or special-purpose vehicle experience is a plus.
• Strong experience with ANSYS or equivalent CAE software is essential.
• Experience with Creo Simulation, Creo and Windchill would be advantageous.
• Experience with Geomagic Design X, Control X and Artec Studio would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Senior Engineers and Design teams to define analysis requirements, load cases and acceptance criteria.
• Perform static, dynamic, modal/vibration and thermal/thermo-mechanical analysis; relevant practical experience is essential.
• Perform fatigue, buckling and nonlinear/contact analysis is essential.
• Define boundary conditions, material properties, contacts, meshing strategy and convergence criteria and ensure appropriate FEA modelling practices.
• Prepare analysis reports and present technical recommendations during design reviews is essential.
• Correlate FEA results with physical testing and support prototype validation and qualification is essential.
