Job summary

EDGE seeks a Principal Engineer - Performance to lead the sizing and performance analysis across the aerospace development lifecycle. You will translate mission needs into explicit performance constraints and develop rigorous assessments covering trajectory, sizing, and optimization, integrating aerodynamic, propulsion, mass, and systems data.

You will act as technical authority for performance substantiation, guiding reviews, testing, and digital-engineering improvements, while mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of relevant aerospace experience.
• Experience predicting or substantiating performance of aerospace systems.
• Strong knowledge of aircraft design, flight mechanics, aerodynamics, propulsion, mass properties, energy systems, mission analysis, and performance prediction.

Responsibilities

• Translate mission and system requirements into performance objectives and analysis cases.
• Lead performance analysis for sizing, takeoff, climb, cruise, range, endurance, and maneuver.
• Develop and maintain performance models: point-performance, mission-analysis, trajectory, sizing, optimization.
• Integrate multidisciplinary data to establish credible vehicle-level performance.
• Conduct trade studies, sensitivity analyses, and uncertainty analyses.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to performance methods and digital engineering practices.
