Job description

An excellent opportunity within a confidential PE Investment Holding based in Abu Dhabi, investing as a Limited Partner (LP) across a diversified portfolio of global private equity funds, alongside selective co-investment opportunities.

This is a highly visible role sitting at the intersection of LP fund operations, investment finance, portfolio monitoring and stakeholder management. The successful candidate will take ownership of reviewing underlying fund performance, capital activity, fund documentation and complex investment structures, while engaging directly with GPs, fund administrators, auditors and senior internal stakeholders.

This is not a traditional back-office fund accounting position. Candidates should combine strong technical knowledge of private equity funds with the commercial confidence to challenge information, identify issues and communicate complex fund matters clearly to senior decision-makers.

Responsibility overview
  • Oversee financial and operational monitoring of a diversified LP portfolio of private equity fund commitments and co-investments
  • Review quarterly fund financial statements, capital account statements, underlying workpapers and GP reporting
  • Review and reconcile capital calls, distributions and LP allocations, identifying discrepancies and engaging directly with GPs or fund administrators where required
  • Monitor portfolio and fund performance across key private equity metrics including IRR, TVPI, DPI, RVPI, NAV and unfunded commitments
  • Review and interpret LPAs, PPMs, side letters, subscription documents and other fund documentation, identifying key commercial, financial and governance provisions
  • Review complex fund and co-investment structures, including feeder/master structures, SPVs, entity relationships and capital flows
  • Analyse carried interest and distribution waterfalls, including preferred returns, catch-up provisions, European versus American waterfalls and clawback mechanics
  • Prepare clear senior-management reporting and presentations, translating complex fund performance, structures and financial matters into concise commercial insights
  • Act as a key point of contact with GPs, fund managers, administrators, auditors and portfolio company finance teams
Requirements
  • Ideally, 8–12+ years of experience across private equity fund operations, fund accounting, investment operations or investment finance
  • Strong LP-side understanding of private equity funds, including fund commitments, capital calls, distributions, NAV, unfunded obligations and fund performance monitoring
  • Detailed working knowledge of LPAs, PPMs, capital account statements, fund financial statements and private equity reporting
  • Strong understanding of private equity fund structures, carried interest and distribution waterfall mechanics
  • Ability to independently review fund financials, challenge calculations and engage confidently with GPs and fund administrators
  • Advanced Excel skills alongside strong PowerPoint capability, with the ability to produce clear senior-management and investment reporting
  • Candidates combining Big 4 / audit or fund administration experience with subsequent buy-side investment company experience would be particularly attractive
  • Prior experience within a private equity firm, institutional investor, asset manager, family office or other LP investment platform would be highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to represent the organization externally
  • Open to relocating to Abu Dhabi for a full‑time position | Candidates must already be based in the UAE.
