Job summary

Sichem in Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Chemical Plant / Process Operator to perform routine production tasks and operate reactors, mixers, pumps and related equipment. You will monitor parameters, collect samples, and support quality control while upholding safety and QHSE standards.

The role requires 2–5 years in chemical process industries, basic English communication, and a strong work ethic. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, it offers growth within a local manufacturing operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in Chemical Process Industries (2–5 years).
• Minimum 2 years experience excluding training, or 1+2 years total.
• Higher Secondary School level or ITI (Trades) or relevant industry experience.
• Basic communication in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Operate reactors, mixers, pumps and other process equipment per SOPs and batch instructions.
• Charge raw materials, monitor process parameters and ensure batch production is completed safely and efficiently.
• Record process data, production results and equipment status accurately.
• Collect product samples and support quality control to ensure specifications are met.
• Identify and report process deviations, equipment malfunctions and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness and workplace safety in production area.
• Support maintenance, troubleshooting, startup/shutdown and continuous improvement activities.

Job Title:

Senior Chemical Plant / Process Operator

Reporting to:

Production Supervisor

Job Objective:

To perform tasks related to routine production and other tasks as directed by Supervisor / Senior Operators.

Key Responsibilities/Duties:

• Operate reactors, mixers, pumps, and other process equipment in accordance with approved SOPs and batch instructions.
• Charge raw materials, monitor process parameters, and ensure batch production is completed safely and efficiently.
• Perform routine inspections and record process data, production results, and equipment status accurately.
• Collect product samples and support quality control activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Identify and report process deviations, equipment malfunctions, and safety concerns promptly.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping, cleanliness, and workplace safety in the production area.
• Support maintenance, troubleshooting, startup, shutdown, and continuous improvement activities as required.
• Conduct specific routine production tasks as directed by Supervisor / Management.
• To understand and follow basic safety regulations during the course of the work, and to develop understanding of all company QHSE standards & operational procedures.
• Follow instructions from Production Supervisor and Senior Operators for day-to-day activities.
• Participate in the sustainability program.

Specialized Knowledge:

• Field Operations in chemical process industry
• Operation of Pumps, Compressors, Reactors, columns, Tank farms

Ability & Skills:

• Basic communication skills in English, written and verbal.
• Basic mathematics skills like addition, subtraction, multiplication with /without a calculator.
• Good physical strength and healthy.
• Basic understanding of equipment operations in production section

Experience:

• Experience required – 2 - 5 years in Chemical Process Industries.
• Minimum 2 years excluding the training period (if training is for one year, then 1+2 years required) and/or Minimum
• 1 year as Assistant Operator

Academic Qualifications:

• Minimum Higher Secondary School level (Grade 12) and/or ITI (Technical Trades) OR relevant industry experience
