Job summary

AECOM in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates is seeking an experienced Senior Architect (Site Supervision) to oversee architectural design implementation and on-site supervision for complex construction projects. You will liaise between design teams, contractors, and stakeholders, providing technical leadership during the construction phase.

Minimum 15 years demonstrable experience in supervision and project administration of architectural works for large-scale Middle East projects.
Bachelor Degree in Architectural Engineering or equivalent; professional membership (PE/Eng, CEng) preferred; LEED GA or AP certifications would be a plus.

Responsibilities

Supervise and monitor all on-site construction activities to ensure compliance with approved architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements
Conduct regular site inspections and quality assurance reviews to verify workmanship, material standards, and adherence to building codes and regulations
Prepare and maintain comprehensive site documentation, including daily reports, inspection logs, change orders, and construction records
Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve technical issues, clarify design intent, and implement corrective actions
Analyze construction challenges and provide innovative solutions while maintaining project timelines and budgets
Lead and mentor on-site teams, communicating architectural requirements clearly and ensuring professional standards are maintained
Review and approve shop drawings, material samples, and construction methodologies for compliance with design specifications
Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance protocols are implemented and maintained throughout the construction process
Manage project communications and documentation, preparing progress reports and presenting findings to project management and stakeholders
Collaborate with design teams to address field conditions and implement design modifications as needed
