Job summary

Black & Grey HR seeks a Field Engineer for our client’s offshore and subsea operations based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. You will supervise offshore installation activities, coordinate marine operations, and ensure strict adherence to project specs, quality, and HSE standards.

The role is permanent with a 60-day on / 30-day off rotation; when ashore you’ll support pre-mobilisation engineering and project close-out documentation at the Abu Dhabi facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of offshore operations experience, including subsea sleeper installation.
• Proven offshore subsea installation and marine operations experience.
• Valid BOSIET and HUET certifications.
• Subsea certifications are a plus.
• Strong knowledge of offshore operations, subsea installation, quality control, and marine coordination.
• Excellent communication and coordination with offshore crews and onshore teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise offshore installation activities, including sleepers, mattresses, risers, grout bags, and other subsea installations.
• Monitor installation quality and provide technical guidance to offshore installation crews.
• Coordinate with marine operations to ensure vessel positioning and equipment deployment.
• Monitor daily installation progress and ensure productivity targets are achieved.
• Conduct installation inspections and quality verification throughout offshore operations.
• Maintain installation procedures, quality records, and project documentation.
• Identify and resolve technical issues during offshore installations.
• Ensure compliance with client specs, project procedures, and technical standards.
• Implement offshore safety procedures and ensure HSE compliance.
• Coordinate with marine crews on safe installation and equipment-handling activities.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and emergency procedures.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during complex offshore installations.
• Interface with onshore engineering and project teams for coordination.
• Support equipment troubleshooting and maintenance during offshore operations.
• Participate in client meetings and onboard daily progress meetings.
