Job summary

LutechResources in Dubai seeks a Senior Hook-up Engineer to lead discipline activities during hook-up and commissioning, coordinating with offshore teams to ensure safe, on-time completion of the campaign.

You will develop constructability plans, review MTOs, supervise junior engineers, manage interfaces with procurement and project controls, and drive risk mitigation to meet project goals in a dynamic offshore environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical) or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years’ experience in offshore engineering.
• Strong knowledge of API, ISO standards and regulations for hook-up activities.
• Proficiency in using project management tools for planning, scheduling, and tracking.
• Excellent communication and leadership to liaise with interdisciplinary teams, stakeholders, and clients.
• Ability to resolve technical challenges and implement innovative solutions.
• Safety-focused with emphasis on delivering projects on time and within budget.
• PMI certification or equivalent PM training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare & review Hook Up job cards with prerequisites and progressive completion activities.
• Develop the WBS for discipline scope.
• Review construction work packs for compliance with project requirements.
• Prepare hook-up schedules with efficient sequencing and cross-discipline coordination.
• Participate in pre-engineering, pre-construction, and post-installation surveys.
• Develop constructability logs and monitor action closures weekly.
• Review design MTOs and verify offshore contingencies.
• Review material requisitions for compliance and coordinate deliveries.
• Ensure progress registers align with hook-up cards and discipline progress.
• Liaise with warehouse/fabrication teams to confirm material receipt, inspection clearance, and handover.
• Develop and implement detailed hook-up plans and strategies for onshore/offshore projects.
• Provide guidance to junior engineers to meet timelines and quality standards.
• Collaborate with project management and procurement to secure resources and equipment.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures during hook-up operations.
• Ensure compliance with project requirements and environmental standards.
• Daily progress monitoring and reporting to planner; coordinate with commissioning teams for systems priorities.
• Travel to offshore sites and onshore yards for multi-disciplinary coordination and offshore mobilization.
