Job summary

MTEC Electromechanical Works LLC in Abu Dhabi, UAE, seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead HVAC, plumbing, drainage and fire-fighting deliverables. The role focuses on coordinated design, technical compliance, constructability and timely approvals.

You will review drawings, perform calculations and lead discussions with clients and consultants, ensuring seamless integration with BIM teams and project schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 15+ years of relevant mechanical MEP experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting and building-services coordination.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit/Navisworks preferred.
• UAE/GCC experience on large building projects.

Responsibilities

• Review mechanical drawings, specs, BOQs and identify design gaps and risks.
• Prepare/shop drawings, layouts, schematics and submittals.
• Perform HVAC load, duct and pipe sizing calculations and equipment selection.
• Coordinate with architecture, structure, electrical and BIM teams.
• Review technical offers for equipment and document compliance.
• Lead technical discussions and close comments within project programme.
• Ensure plantroom access, maintenance clearances and coordination.
• Support site constraints, testing, balancing and commissioning.
• Assist with approvals and handover documentation.
• Mentor junior engineers and uphold internal standards.
