Job summary

James L Williams Middle East is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to join our QA/QC team and support major MEP projects in Dubai. You will lead quality inspections, manage non-conformances, and coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and service providers to ensure delivery meets the highest standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of QA/QC experience, with mandatory data centre project exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of QA/QC experience, with mandatory Data Centre project experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical installations, inspection requirements, and quality processes.
• Proficient in PQP, ITPs, Method Statements, MIRs, WIRs, NCRs, SORs, and close-out docs.
• Experience coordinating with Clients, Consultants, Project Engineers, subcontractors, and service providers.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, coordination, and people management.
• Ability to identify process gaps and recommend improvements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure mechanical installations comply with PQP, specifications, shop drawings, and authority requirements.
• Develop and coordinate Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and Method Statements for relevant mechanical installations.
• Manage MIRs and verify materials delivered to site against approved submittals.
• Conduct material and work inspections with Consultants and third parties; ensure only approved materials are released for installation.
• Prepare and coordinate WIRs; address and resubmit rejected MIRs/WIRs promptly.
• Coordinate mock-up inspections with Consultants and discipline engineers as required.
• Conduct regular site quality inspections to verify compliance with Method Statements and drawings.
• Manage NCRs and SORs, including corrective actions and close-out, supporting recurrence prevention.
• Ensure measuring & testing instruments on site have valid calibration.
• Verify latest approved IFC drawings are used and superseded drawings are controlled.
• Ensure project close-out documentation (As-Built, O&M Manuals, Warranty Certificates, spare parts) is complete.
• Coordinate snagging and quality close-out for successful handover.
• Provide quality guidance and training to site teams for recurring issues.

The role is responsible for ensuring mechanical works are executed in accordance with the approved Project Quality Plan, project specifications, approved shop drawings, authority requirements, and established quality standards. The successful candidate will lead quality inspections, submissions, non-conformance management, and close-out activities while coordinating with project teams, consultants, clients, subcontractors, and service providers.

Key Responsibilities
