Job summary

Al Nasiya General Contracting in Abu Dhabi seeks a Mechanical QA/QC Engineer to oversee site quality for mechanical works (HVAC, piping, drainage). You will review specs, ITPs, inspect materials, witness tests, and coordinate NCRs with consultants and subs.

Candidates should have a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and about 5 years in QA/QC in construction or oil and gas, with knowledge of ASME, AWS, NFPA, ISO 9001, and the ability to read drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant qualification.
• 5 years of mechanical QA/QC experience in construction, MEP, industrial, or oil and gas projects.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards (ASME, AWS, NFPA) and local authority requirements.
• Experience interpreting technical drawings, specifications and inspection requirements.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Relevant inspection, welding, or quality certifications are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, mechanical drawings, method statements, material submittals and ITPs.
• Inspect incoming materials and equipment, verify certificates, approvals, condition and traceability.
• Conduct site inspections of mechanical works (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, piping, equipment installations).
• Verify installation quality against drawings, manufacturer instructions and project requirements.
• Raise and coordinate material and work inspection requests (RIRs) with consultants, clients and subcontractors.
• Witness pressure testing, flushing, leak testing, equipment performance testing and commissioning activities.
• Review welding procedures, welder qualifications and NDT records where required.
• Identify nonconforming work, issue NCRs and verify corrective actions before closure.
• Monitor subcontractor quality performance and support quality audits.
• Maintain inspection reports, test records, checklists and NCR registers.
