Job summary

Our client in the energy sector in Dubai seeks an experienced Purchase Officer to manage local procurement activities, source materials, and ensure timely delivery for project execution. You will handle RFQ, supplier coordination, PO management, expediting, and quality documentation across mechanical and engineering items.

The role requires 7–10 years of UAE procurement experience, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work with ERP systems and read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred in mechanical engineering or related field.
• Diploma holders with relevant procurement experience will be considered.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in local UAE purchasing or procurement activities.
• Strong negotiation, vendor sourcing and market knowledge within UAE.
• Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Review MRs and BOQ to understand material requirements.
• Issue RFQs with complete technical and commercial details to suppliers.
• Prepare QCS for evaluating supplier quotations and select vendors.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders with detailed material descriptions, specs, quantities and delivery locations.
• Expedite orders and monitor delivery to avoid project delays.
• Coordinate with QA/QC for material inspection and MTCs.
• Maintain procurement records and supplier performance data.
• Negotiate better pricing and terms with suppliers to achieve cost savings.
