Job summary

AECOM in Dubai is seeking a detail-oriented Inspector Mechanical - Buildings Supervision to oversee mechanical systems on building projects, ensuring compliance with local and international standards and safety. You will inspect HVAC, plumbing and fire protection, review plans, coordinate with contractors, and report findings.

This on-site role requires travel within Dubai and a proactive, safety-focused mindset.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
ICC Mechanical Inspector certification or equivalent.
5+ years of mechanical inspection experience.
Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems.
Ability to read mechanical plans, blueprints and specs; knowledge of codes.
Experience with CAD software and project management tools.
Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication and report writing.
Willingness to work on-site and travel within Dubai.

Responsibilities

Conduct inspections of mechanical systems in buildings (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).
Verify compliance with building codes, regulations and project specifications.
Prepare inspection reports and communicate findings to project stakeholders.
Review and approve mechanical plans and drawings.
Collaborate with contractors, engineers and professionals to resolve technical issues.
Monitor construction progress and timelines.
Enforce safety protocols on construction sites.
Stay updated on industry standards and best practices in mechanical systems.
Participate in project meetings and provide expert mechanical advice.
Manage multiple projects with attention to detail.
