Job summary

Albatha Group in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Senior Estimation Engineer - Mechanical to lead cost estimation and tendering for MEP projects. The role covers HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire fighting, with strong focus on accuracy and value engineering.

You will coordinate with design, procurement and project teams, prepare detailed estimates, and guide junior staff to ensure timely, competitive bids that meet client requirements.

Qualifications

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in MEP estimation.
• Experience with MEP contracting firms, consultancies, or construction companies.
• Proficient in quantity take-offs from drawings and BIM models.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA and local regulations.
• Strong MS Excel skills for cost sheets and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical scope of MEP projects (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire fighting, etc.).
• Study tender documents, drawings, specs, and BOQs to understand scope and estimate requirements.
• Carry out quantity take-offs from drawings/models (2D and BIM).
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Prepare competitive, technically sound, commercially viable bid proposals within deadlines.
• Coordinate with design, procurement, planning, and project teams for inputs.
• Mentor junior estimation engineers as needed.
