Job Brief:

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer for a cement manufacturing plant in Fujairah.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising mechanical maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and efficient operation of plant machinery and equipment. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, equipment availability, minimising unexpected downtime, and maintaining workplace safety standards.

The ideal candidate should have 8–10 years of experience in cement plant mechanical maintenance, with strong technical knowledge of kilns, coal mills, cement mills (ball mills), and other cement manufacturing equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the mechanical maintenance team to ensure all maintenance activities are completed efficiently and safely.
• Develop and implement comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance strategies and schedules.
• Oversee the maintenance of plant machinery, mechanical equipment, and associated facilities.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Manage the mechanical maintenance budget and ensure cost-effective maintenance operations.
• Coordinate with production and other departments to ensure smooth plant operations and minimise equipment downtime.
• Analyse maintenance data, identify recurring equipment issues, and implement improvements to enhance machinery reliability and reduce breakdowns.
• Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintain daily maintenance checklists.
• Promote a Kaizen culture and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and equipment performance.
• Plan spare parts requirements and maintain adequate inventory of critical mechanical spares.
• Monitor key maintenance performance indicators, including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), equipment availability, safety performance, and maintenance costs.
• Support effective maintenance planning and inventory management to ensure uninterrupted cement plant operations.

Job Requirements:

• B.Tech / Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8–10 years of relevant mechanical maintenance experience within a cement manufacturing plant.
• Strong technical knowledge of mechanical maintenance activities and equipment used in cement manufacturing.
• Hands-on maintenance experience with cement plant equipment, including kilns, coal mills, and cement mills (ball mills).
• Proven experience in preventive maintenance planning, breakdown maintenance, and equipment reliability improvement.
• Experience supervising mechanical maintenance teams and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of maintenance budgets, spare parts planning, and critical inventory management.
• Familiarity with equipment performance indicators, including MTBF and equipment availability.
• Good understanding of industrial health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good organisational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to coordinate effectively with production and maintenance teams to ensure smooth plant operations.
