Job summary

Azizi Developments seeks an experienced maintenance engineer to plan, supervise, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance for plant, heavy equipment, and vehicles on our construction sites in the UAE. You will diagnose faults, supervise workshops, and coordinate with site teams to minimize downtime.

The role requires 5–8 years of hands-on experience with cranes, generators, excavators, and other heavy machinery, plus strong knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in plant and machinery maintenance, preferably in UAE/GCC construction.
• Hands-on experience maintaining excavators, wheel loaders, cranes, forklifts, generators, compressors, batching plants, and other heavy machinery.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmission systems, mechanical components, and equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience in preventive maintenance planning, breakdown management, and workshop supervision.
• Knowledge of spare parts management and maintenance documentation.
• Familiarity with CMMS is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance for plant, heavy equipment, machinery, and vehicles.

• Monitor equipment condition to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules based on hours, manufacturer recommendations, and needs.
• Supervise mechanics, technicians, electricians, and workshop staff to ensure efficient maintenance.
• Coordinate with operators, site teams, and project managers to prioritise maintenance requirements.
• Maintain records of inspections, service history, breakdowns, repairs, and costs.
• Monitor equipment utilization, availability, repair frequency, and maintenance expenses.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure availability of spare parts, lubricants, tools, and materials.
• Inspect repaired equipment for safety and operation before site release.
• Liaise with external service providers for specialized repairs and warranty claims.
• Ensure compliance with manufacturer guidelines, safety regulations, and company procedures.
• Identify recurring failures and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
• Support inspections, condition assessments, and evaluations for repair or replacement decisions.
• Monitor workshop activities and proper use of tools and resources.
• Prepare maintenance reports and recommendations for management.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of used oils and lubricants.

• Monitor the operational condition and performance of equipment to minimize downtime and improve reliability.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules based on equipment operating hours, manufacturer recommendations, and maintenance requirements.
• Supervise mechanics, technicians, electricians, and workshop personnel to ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently.
• Coordinate with equipment operators, site teams, and project managers to identify equipment issues and prioritize maintenance requirements.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment inspections, service history, breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance costs.
• Monitor equipment utilization, availability, repair frequency, and maintenance expenses.
• Coordinate with the procurement and stores teams to ensure the timely availability of spare parts, lubricants, tools, and maintenance materials.
• Inspect repaired equipment and verify that it is safe and fit for operation before releasing it back to the site.
• Liaise with external service providers, suppliers, and equipment dealers for specialized repairs, technical support, and warranty claims.
• Ensure compliance with equipment manufacturer guidelines, company maintenance procedures, and applicable health and safety regulations.
• Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective and preventive measures to improve equipment reliability.
• Support equipment inspections, condition assessments, and technical evaluations for the purchase, repair, or replacement of machinery.
• Monitor workshop activities and ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and maintenance resources.
• Prepare maintenance reports, breakdown analyses, spare parts requirements, and recommendations for management.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of used oils, lubricants, batteries, and other maintenance‑related waste.
• Support the implementation of cost‑control measures and continuous improvement initiatives within the PMV maintenance function.

• Experience in preventive maintenance planning, breakdown management, and workshop supervision.
• Knowledge of spare parts management, maintenance documentation, and equipment service schedules.
• Familiarity with equipment maintenance software or computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is an advantage.
